About Us

Gear heads, Inc. is the Smithson Valley Middle School robotics team.  We compete yearly in the San Antonio Boosting Engineering and Technology (SA BEST) competition.  This will be our sixth year to compete.  Last year we succeeded in moving on to the state level competition, Texas BEST.  Our membership is made of up over thirty 6th-8th grade students. 

​Our Team

Gear heads, Inc. is divided into five different divisions.  Exhibit and Interview, Marketing, Process Engineering Notebook, Engineering, and Spirit.  The Engineering division is further subdivided into Field Construction, Software Design, C.A.D. and Design and Build. Each division and subdivision has a student leader.  Occasionally, we have adult mentors to help answer any questions we may have.
